Art à la table

Next time you go out for a fancy dinner, take a good look at your plate. No, not the food. The plate.

It may pass by unnoticed by many, but tableware is part of the experience when you have a meal. And more and more top restaurants are looking for something special.

Top chefs in Montreal and around the world are turning to ceramic artist Pascale Girardin.

You can sample food served on her platters at places like Brasserie T! , Fushi, Juni, Les 400 Coups, and XO Le Restaurant in the Hotel le St-James in Montreal, and Fin restaurant at The Mirage in Las Vegas. She's also done large-scale installations at The West Edmonton Mall, College St-Jean-Vianney, and department store Les Printemps in Paris
