Saving the St. James pipe organ

ORGAN.JPGThe organ at St. James United Church in downtown Montreal is in a bit of a precarious situation.

A week ago, the church flooded after a pipe broke due to the cold. The flood knocked out the heating system and the church was extremely cold for a couple of days.

There's a lot of damage to the building, but it would be even worse if this precious instrument were ruined.

The organ was not directly affected by the flood, but special measures are being taken to make sure the cold and humidity don't damage it.

We visited St. James to find out what is being done to preserve this massive and complex instrument.
