Cinq à Six in the Summer -- August 18, 2012
First up on the show, Isabeau et le chercheurs d'or.
Isabeau et les chercheurs d'or are a folk-country band from Quebec City. With their vocal harmonies and sounds of the mandolin and the violin, their original music speaks of travel, romance and daily life.
Lead singer Isabeau Valois has an honest and versatile voice that is raw and very touching.
This is a hot young band, amazing on stage, and it reflects a popular new sound in Quebec music.
In May, A Propos host Jim Corcoran brought together Persian musicians and singers, a scholar of la chanson française, and three very different singer songwriters for a unique evening of original music.
The concert featured Martin Léon, Patrice Michaud, Betty Bonifassi, Audrey Emery, Azam Ali, Kiya and Ziya Tabassian, on stage at L'Astral Theatre in Montreal.
