Actress, shepherd, priest and poet Mia Anderson wins 2013 Montreal International Poetry Prize
Mia Anderson is the winner of the 2013 Montreal International Poetry Prize.
There were overs 2000 entries from 70 countries. Anderson took the top prize of 20-thousand dollars for her poem The Antenna.
Anderson is originally from Ontario, but she now lives in Pontneuf, Quebec.
Her poetry draws from her wide-ranging professional experiences.
She's worked as an actress in stage productions and radio dramas. She was the voice of the CBC Radio production of Margaret Atwood's The Journals of Suzanna Moodie.
Anderson has also worked as a farmer and shepherd. (Yes, we really do mean someone who herds sheep.)
She is also an ordained Anglican minister.
Mia Anderson graciously travelled from Pontneuf to our Montreal studio for this conversation with Cinq à Six host Jeanette Kelly.
