Cinq à Six in the Summer: Zal Idrissa Sisokho and Ayrad

july 13.jpgSenegalese Kora master Zal Idrissa Sisokho was asked by Mundo Montreal to create a concert that would mix music and cultures. The result was a spectacular mélange of West African Casamance and North American Rhythm and Blues.

Along with Sissokho are roots master Michael Jerome Browne, blues guitarist Cécile Doo-Kingué and R&B crossover star Doba.

In our second concert we feature Ayrad, a mix of North African and Quebecois musicians who are this year's prix de la diversité winners.

Today's edition of Cinq à Six in the Summer was produced by Frank Opolko and hosted by Jeanette Kelly.
