YUL-MTL Moving Landscapes

YULMTL_CommuniquéPresse12septembre.jpgFor many people, the first glimpse of Montreal is from the window of a bus or taxi, on the 17 km of highway between the airport and downtown.

With crumbling infrastructure and industrial yards, it's hard to imagine THAT making a good first impression.

Which is why change might just be coming. The Quebec Minister of Transport has asked people in the department of Landscape and Environmental Design at University of Montreal to hold an IDEA competition.

The challenge -- to come up with a new vision for the entrance corridor to the city.

It's called YUL-MTL Moving Landscapes. (YUL, of course, is the airport code.)
Patrick Marmen is in charge of the contest.
