An architectural vision
Gilles Saucier is partner in the award-winning firm Saucier + Perrotte in Montreal.
As Montreal celebrates five years as a UNESCO city of design, Saucier says some progress has been made, but he bemoans the proliferation of uninspired architectural buildings in the city.
He makes a call to arms for the city to embrace good design and invest in quality buildings instead of awarding contracts based on who submits the lowest bid.
