On Canada Day 2010 CBC News opened nominations for the first ever Canada's Champions of Change.
The project started with two goals. First, to pay tribute to all those volunteers in Canada, and Canadians working around the world, who do so much, and ask so little in return. Second, to inspire Canadians to get involved in a charity, a cause, a group to help make a difference in their own community.
We received almost 2000 nominations from Canadians aged 6 to 100 years-old. For a breakdown of those nominations here. From all the entries, we selected the Top 50, and you can read about these exceptional volunteers here.
Finally, check out our top 10 stories here, and watch the finale and meet the two winners Bob Davisson and Bobby Hayes.
