Duck Pond Mine Closure

Teck's Duck Pond mine near Millertown is nearing the end of it's life.

The company was hopeful they'd find more ore deposits in the area, but that hasn't happened.

The existing supply of nickel, copper and zinc will run out in early 2015.

That means the doors of that facility will shut and the once bustling operation will stop.

We speak to Larry Bartlett, the general manager of the mine and Tom Boone, the President of

the Exploits Regional Chamber of Commerce about this announcement.
