Workplace related breast cancer
New research released this week says a woman's place of work can increase her risk of developing breast cancer. Jim Brophy is the lead researcher on the study. Leigh Ann reached him at his home in Ontario.
The study was paid for, in part, by the National Network on Environment and Women's Health. That group is one of six reasearch organizations across the country focused on the health and well-being of women that will soon lose their federal government funding. The cuts are part of the omnibus budget bill passed for 2012 by the Harper government. Dayna Scott heads up the network, Leigh Ann reached her in Toronto.
