While party leaders’ seats tend to be fairly secure, this is not always the case.
William Lyon Mackenzie King lost his riding twice when his Liberal party was re-elected.
This time both NDP leader Jack Layton and Green Party leader Jim Harris are running in the same riding of Toronto Danforth. Paul Martin,
Gilles Duceppe and Stephen Harper are all running in ridings they are likely to win… the first two in Quebec and Harper in Calgary.
