Dogs may have been targets at Cherry Beach

Toronto police have released details of what they're calling a "suspicious incident" in the off leash area at Cherry Beach that might have been aimed at injuring dogs.
Police say a board laced with nails was found buried in the sand on Tuesday.
It was "a wooden board, with numerous nails driven through it," said a statement from police. "[It] was located at Cherry Beach in the dog off leash area.'"
The board was buried with the nails facing upward near the western end of the beach.
Police do not believe there were any injuries, but they are asking the public to contact them if they have any information.
There have been a number of attempts to deliberately injure animals in Toronto over the past few years.
In 2008, two dogs died after being poisoned in a west end park.
A similar incident was reported in 2004 when hot dogs containing poison were found in an east end park.
