3 charged in Don Jail beating death

Last Updated: Tuesday, November 10, 2009 | 8:06 PM ET

Three men were charged Monday with murder in the beating death of an inmate at Toronto's Don Jail.

Jeff Munro, 32, was kicked and punched to death in the cells of the jail on Saturday night, Toronto police said.

Jail staff found Munro with "obvious signs of trauma to his face," according to a police statement.

The cell area of the jail is not monitored by cameras because of privacy concerns.

Three men each face one count of first-degree murder: Troy Victor Campbell, 24, Osman Sarikay, 22, and Kevin Andre Veiro, 21.

All three are to make a court appearance in Toronto on Tuesday morning.
