Marie Speck, 50, hasn't been seen since the fire Saturday morning. (Toronto Police Service) A woman who alerted several slumbering occupants of a building to a fire early Saturday is missing, police say.
Marie Speck, 50, who lived in the building, woke up a number of other residents after the fire broke out at around 5:20 a.m. at 1079 Bathurst St., near Bathurst Street and Dupont Avenue.
Toronto police said in a Monday release "all occupants are safe due to Marie Speck's actions."
They are appealing to the public to contact them if they have information on her whereabouts.
She was last seen around the time of the fire wearing a white T-shirt and blue jeans.
