Three Toronto-area residents are missing and presumed drowned in central Ontario's Muskoka region.
Ontario Provincial Police said seven people were swimming in a pooled area at Moon River Falls on Sunday afternoon when only four emerged from the water, two of them suffering from minor injuries. Moon River Falls is about 25 kilometres west of Lake Muskoka.
The OPP's underwater search and recovery unit spent hours searching for the missing three swimmers before calling off the search because of darkness.
Sgt. Rob Michaud said the search will resume at first light Monday morning.
Two of the surviving swimmers were taken to Parry Sound hospital by air ambulance.
Michaud had no information on the missing but he did say he did not think any of them were children.
