Toronto police are warning residents to be careful after a rash of late-night swarmings in public parks along a stretch of Bloor Street West.
There have been nine robberies in the past few weeks in the area of Bloor Street and Dufferin Street and Bloor and Christie Street, investigators said.
All victims have been swarmed by a group of seven or more youths who then rob them of their valuables, Det. Leslie Hildred said.
Hildred is urging people to take precautions and call 911 if they see someone in distress.
"I would say stay out of parks late at night, walk with a purpose and try not to walk alone," Hildred said.
Investigators believe the same group is most likely committing the robberies.
Police have a number of suspects but there have been no arrests, Hildred said.
