Police boost efforts to find sexual attacker

Toronto police have intensified efforts to find a man who sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl last month, handing out composite sketches of the suspect in the neighbourhood where the assault took place.
The teen was walking on the sidewalk along Wolverleigh Boulevard, near Coxwell and Danforth avenues, at about 10:15 p.m. on July 21 when a stranger attacked her.
The man grabbed her and tried to pull her into the parking lot of a nearby school, where police believe he had a car.
Police are handing out a composite sketch of the suspect.
"There was a fight and a struggle, quite a violent struggle," said Toronto police Det. Const. Shawna Coxon. "She was sexually assaulted and managed to escape to safety."
Police officers have knocked on doors in the neighbourhood several times since the assault, searching for witnesses.
On Monday evening, they expanded the canvassing area and handed out copies of the composite sketch in hopes of turning up new information.
Police also set up a mobile station at Earl Beatty Community Centre at 55 Woodington Ave., close to where the assault took place. Officers handed out pamphlets with the composite sketch.
Investigators said they received several new tips during their latest canvass of the east-end neighbourhood, but are still asking for the public's help.
The suspect is described as about 19 years old, standing six feet one inch or taller, with blue-green eyes and a medium build. He has a long face, thin lips, a scar or cut through his left eyebrow and a pierced right ear.
He was wearing a black T-shirt and dark pants, and may be driving a dark, four-door vehicle.
