McGuinty chosen 'Personality of the Year' by British mag

Ontario Premier Dalton McGuinty is the "Personality of the Year," according to a British business publication.
Foreign Direct Investment magazine, part of the London Financial Times group, announced Thursday it selected the premier because of his efforts to promote research and innovation in the province.
McGuinty's push to secure new automotive investments and his plan to boost the province's electricity supply impressed magazine editors.

The publication chose McGuinty as this year's regional winner for North America as well as the worldwide winner.
Previous winners include Mexican President Vicente Fox, Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and the mayor of Seoul, South Korea, Lee Myung-bak.
The latest issue of the magazine, featuring McGuinty, is slated to hit newsstands this week with award ceremonies scheduled for next month, according to a media spokesperson.
