Saskatoon homicide victim's name released

Saskatoon police have identified the victim of the city's fifth homicide this year.

Michael Darcy Keenatch, 28, died Saturday after he was involved in an altercation with another man in the 300 block of 2nd Avenue North downtown the day before, police said.

Charged with second-degree murder is John Newburn Miller, 50.

Miller made a brief appearance in provincial court on Monday and has been remanded in custody. He's scheduled to be back in court later this month.

Police haven't provided details about the apparent cause of death.
