Fort Qu'Appelle schools evacuated after bomb threat

Last Updated: Wednesday, November 7, 2007 | 1:47 PM CT

A bomb threat in Fort Qu'Appelle led to the evacuation of two schools Wednesday morning while police searched the buildings.

The RCMP said a note indicating there was a bomb was found in Fort Qu'Appelle Elementary Community School which resulted in Fort Qu'Appelle and the school next door — Bert Fox Composite High School — being cleared of staff and students.

One father who works in Regina said he heard about the evacuation when his daughter called him.

So far officials with the Prairie Valley School Division have said only that they are aware of the situation and that the safety of students and staff is their first concern.
