Charlottetown police arrested four people overnight in connection with thefts from the Brighton neighbourhood of the city.
A 21-year-old Charlottetown man was arrested by police on foot patrol on Prince Charles Drive. The man has been charged with theft from a motor vehicle.
An 18-year-old Charlottetown man, a 15-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy were also arrested overnight on charges of theft and possession of stolen property.
Police seized DVD players, clothing, cameras, iPod Touches and a leather jacket.
"We do know that there are a number of individuals out there committing these offences," said Richard Collins, deputy chief of police administration and support services.
"Over the last number of weeks, this brings to a total of 13 people that we have arrested for property-related offences, involving either thefts from vehicles or stolen property related to break and enters," Collins said Wednesday.
Collins noted there have been a number of recent thefts from motor vehicles.
He asked people in the Brighton area of Charlottetown to check their vehicles to ensure nothing was stolen overnight.
Collins also warned residents to ensure their vehicles and homes are locked, and that valuable possessions are put away.
