Charlottetown will host the women's national curling championship, the Scotties Tournament of Hearts, in 2011.
The Canadian Curling Association made the announcement Friday. This is the third time the event has been set for P.E.I.
Kim Dolan, who has competed in nine Scotties tournaments, will chair the local host committee.
"I am thrilled to have this opportunity to chair what I promise will be very enthusiastic and committed group of volunteers," Dolan said in a news release.
The tournament will be played at the Charlottetown Civic Centre from Feb. 19-27, 2011. Tickets go on sale in January 2010.
