The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Charlottetown postponed a large fundraiser for its annual Friends for Life campaign on Thursday because of swine flu concerns.
The hospital has been restricting visitors to two per patient and have barred visitors under the age of 18 since late October.
"It was felt really to be inappropriate to bring large groups of people into the hospital," said campaign chair Dr. David Ashby.
The campaign is hoping to raise enough money to buy equipment to help diagnose cancer and assist stroke patients. The goal is to raise $6 million.
