Fire leaves North Rustico family homeless

A fire in a North Rustico, P.E.I., bungalow early Wednesday morning has left a family homeless.

The North Rustico fire department was called to the blaze about 3:30 a.m. on Canada Day.

"It looks like rather complete destruction," said provincial fire marshal Dave Blacquiere. "I have fire investigators at the scene today trying to determine the cause."

No one was hurt in the incident.

"But two or maybe even three members of the family had to escape the fire," said Blacquiere.

An electrical specialist is also at the site.
