A P.E.I. webcam trained on what appears to be a lone mussel in the water has been named among the top 25 most interesting webcams in the world.

The New Jersey-based EarthCam viewed more than 5,000 webcams in selecting the top 25.
MusselCam and Peggy's Cove, N.S., were the only two Canadian webcams to make the list. The list itself is unranked, but officials at EarthCam said the mussel shot was in the Top 10 for the judges.
The message below the picture adds to the site's appeal.
"They are judged for concept, creativity, technology, visual quality and design and I don't think you can top the MusselCam for creativity," said Justin Camerlengo, director of marketing at EarthCam Incorporated.
Camerlengo said the disclaimer on the web page, "Mussels grow very, very slowly. Please check back often," adds to the site's appeal.
"It's a lot of fun, and also there's the question of trying to watch this thing grow, you know. People love that kind of thing. Whimsy is in," he said.
Garner Quain, the co-owner of Flex Mussels, which has locations in Charlottetown and Summerside, was surprised to hear his camera made the list.
"I didn't ever think that it would make any kind of Top 10 list, other than the fact that it's so, kind of, notoriously boring," said Quain.
"There's a few other ones on the internet that are sort of old favourites that have kind of always been running, so it was really kind of an homage to those, so to be included among them is a nice little honour."
Quain said MusselCam gets more than 1,000 hits a day.
