Facebook group seeks witnesses in Kelly Morrisseau slaying

An Ottawa man has started a Facebook group to provide some solace to the family of slaying victim Kelly Morrisseau and encourage witnesses to come forward.
As of Monday, Randy Mclean's group "Kelly Morrisseau — Help Catch Her Killer" on the popular online social network had more than 500 members.
Mclean started the group on June 8 in memory of the 27-year-old pregnant mother of three who was found fatally stabbed in a Gatineau Park parking lot on Dec. 10.
"Just the thought of that happening to me in my family is just devastating," he said. "I couldn't imagine what her family is going through, and her kids — what they have to deal with growing up without a mother."
He said he was particularly bothered by the fact that Morrisseau, who lived in Ottawa but was born in Manitoba's Sagkeeng First Nation, was seven months pregnant at the time of her slaying.
As of Monday, Gatineau police still had no suspects, even though a $20,000 reward has been offered to anyone with information leading to her killer's arrest.
Mclean said he hopes the group will keep people talking about the case.
Mclean's group had more than 500 members by July 23, including Sophie Brousseau, who runs Hannah Confectionary in Ottawa's Vanier neighbourhood, where Morrisseau lived and worked as a prostitute.
"She'd be here every day," said Brousseau, who has posted several times on the group's public discussion wall.
She told CBC News she wants police to find Morrisseau's killer.
"It shouldn't matter what race she is, what she did for a living, if she did do drugs, if she drank," Brousseau added. "She was seven months pregnant. She was murdered — that's what it should boil down to."
