John Tory says he would sue anyone at the site of an ongoing land-claim dispute who creates a disturbance resulting in a "huge public expense."
The Progressive Conservative leader said he would use the civil court system to ensure people understand a Conservative government wouldn't tolerate "lawlessness," and would not hesitate to to bring civil charges against anyone who causes a costly disturbance involving police.
Tory's remarks came after a homebuilder was seriously injured Thursday afternoon in Caledonia when he clashed with several aboriginal youths.
Sam Gualtieri, 52, was found unconscious on the floor and rushed to a local hospital.
Gualtieri's brother said Thursday night his brother was in serious condition with a broken nose and bruised skull.
