NDP's Frank Corbett declared first elected MLA in Cape Breton Centre

The NDP's Frank Corbett is Nova Scotia's first elected Member of the Legislative Assembly in Cape Breton Centre.

With 65 per cent of the polls reporting, Corbett is carrying roughly 80 per cent of the vote, followed by Liberal candidate Joe MacPherson with about 10 per cent and Progressive Conservative candidate Chris Ryan with six per cent.

CBC News projects that the NDP will form Nova Scotia's next government.
