District profile: Agriculture is truly king in Kings North, home to about half of the province's 600 farms. Chicken, vegetables and pork are the main commodities.

The district includes the northern part of Kings County overlooking the scenic Minas Basin at Cape Blomidon and the town of Kentville, where Valley Regional Hospital is located.

The manufacturing and service sectors are strong employers along the New Minas corridor.

2006:	PC Mark Parent cruised to victory by almost 2,000 votes over his nearest rival, New Democrat Jim Morton.
2003:	Parent was re-elected with 50 per cent of the vote over Morton of the NDP. Liberal Michael Landry came in third.
1999:	Parent took 4,321 votes to defeat New Democrat Neil McNeil. Liberal Peter Hill finished third.
1998:	PC George Archibald defeated McNeil by 906 votes. The Liberals were third.
1993:	Archibald defeated Liberal Jennifer Foster by 157 votes.
