Explosion at Dartmouth home scrutinized

An explosion and fire tore through a house in North End Dartmouth early Sunday morning.

No one was home at the time and no one was injured.

Halifax fire investigators are trying to determine what might have caused the blast.

Neighbours told police they heard something blow up at 5 Parkstone Rd. at about 2 a.m. AT.

One level of the property sustained significant damage, according to fire officials.
