More shots fired in Spryfield area

Last Updated: Sunday, November 1, 2009 | 12:07 PM AT

Police in Halifax are investigating after more shots were fired Saturday night in the Spryfield area.

Witnesses told police three shots were fired from a dark blue hatchback just before 10:30 p.m. AT on Lemon Walk, near Greystone Drive.

It's unclear what the shooter was aiming at, but it doesn't appear anyone was injured, police said.

This is the latest in a recent string of gunshot incidents in that area.

There was a shooting on Herring Cove Road at about 4:30 a.m. Saturday, said Sgt. Michael Spurr.

A resident thought they heard a car backfiring, but discovered a bullet that was fired from outside lodged in their bedroom closet.

Bullets go through walls

"The bullet penetrated a window casing, a wall, and in through a bedroom into a closet shelf," Spurr said.

About two weeks ago, police investigated a similar shooting at a different house on the same block.

In that case a man found a bullet hole in his front door, but didn't call police until hours later after another bullet passed through the house.

Police do not believe that shooting was a random incident, Spurr said.

They're canvassing the area to try to determine if there's any connection between the cases.
