Last Updated: Tuesday, June 30, 2009 | 10:29 AM AT

RCMP have a man in custody following a fire at a home in Nova Scotia's Antigonish County early Tuesday.

Antigonish RCMP said they received a complaint around 2:30 a.m. from the Monastery area that someone had made a threat.

When officers got there, the home was on fire and firefighters were arriving at the scene.

One man had been inside the residence, but he escaped unharmed after waking up to the smell of smoke.

Fire investigators and Mounties were at the home Tuesday morning, while a man remained in custody at the Antigonish RCMP detachment.

No charges have been laid so far.
