Halifax Regional Police say a man will be charged with attempted murder following a shooting in Sambro Monday night.
Police said just after 8 p.m., officers responding to a call at a convenience store on West Pennant Road found a 25-year-old man who'd been shot multiple times in the leg.
Const. Brian Palmeter, an HRP spokesman, said the man was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre in Halifax with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police arrested a man in a white pickup truck a short time later. The man was released, but the truck was seized for forensic testing.
Hours later, police arrested the 28-year-old man at a home on Venus Drive, off Old Sambro Road.
The man is scheduled to appear in Halifax provincial court later Tuesday on charges of attempted murder and firearms-related offences.
Palmeter said investigators do not believe the shooting was random.
