Delivery driver robbed outside Iqaluit diner

Iqaluit RCMP released a photo Friday of the rifle found near the scene of the armed robbery outside the Snack restaurant Thursday. (RCMP) Iqaluit RCMP are seeking the public's help in finding two men who robbed a female delivery driver at gunpoint behind a local restaurant Thursday night.
Around 7:30 p.m. ET, two men wearing gloves, dark clothing and full-face balaclavas approached the driver behind Snack restaurant, where the driver was working.
As the female driver was walking from her vehicle to the back entrance of the restaurant, one of the men pointed the rifle at her, according to police. The men demanded that she give them whatever money she had or she would die.
Snack co-owner Lorraine Hebert told CBC News the thieves got away with less than $100, which she said is the maximum amount of cash delivery drivers are supposed to carry.
Police also recovered a hoodie found near the scene of Thursday's armed robbery. (RCMP) No shots were fired, and the suspects fled the scene on foot. Officers later found the weapon, as well as a black balaclava and dark-coloured hoodie, beside a creek near the restaurant.
"The gun is what appears to be a lower-calibre rifle with a sawed-off stock," Sgt. Jimmy Akavak told CBC News.
"It looks like a full barrel but a sawed-off stock; an older rusty rifle."
Akavak noted that anyone who is convicted of robbery with a firearm is subject to a minimum four years in prison and a maximum of life.
The delivery driver was back at work on Friday, but appeared shaken and didn't want to comment about the robbery.
