People in Deline, N.W.T. were breathing a sigh of relief Wednesday after a standby evacuation order was lifted.
The community 538 kilometres northwest of Yellowknife was put on emergency notice after a forest fire came dangerously close to the town on Monday.
But good weather conditions have aided fire fighters, and the senior administrative officer of the community, Christina Gaudet, says they have about half of the blaze contained.
Deline, N.W.T.
Gaudet says there is no smoke in Deline and they can't see the fire at all.
At its largest point, the fire covered 58 hectares and was just 11 kilometres from the hamlet.
