Tory Leader Danny Williams took his campaign into western Newfoundland on Monday, as he attempted to persuade voters in another hard-core Liberal district to break with history.
Williams appealed to residents of the Bay of Islands district to turf two-term incumbent Liberal Eddie Joyce, who took over the seat from former Liberal premiers Clyde Wells and Brian Tobin.Newfoundland and Labrador Premier Danny Williams greets supporters on Monday.

"New Liberalism means getting rid of old Liberals, and Eddie Joyce is one of the old Liberals," Williams said.
Throughout the three-week campaign leading to Tuesday's provincial election, Williams has focused on winning votes in districts that have been Liberal strongholds.
Williams headed into the election campaign with 34 of the 48 seats in the house of assembly, but is intending to add at least a few more seats to that count.
Liberal Leader Gerry Reid campaigned in his home district of the Isles of Notre Dame on Monday. Throughout the campaign, Reid has hammered the PC record on rural issues, and has said the province's reversal of fiscal fortune has had little effect on ordinary people.
Reid, fighting to hold the Liberal base and to make gains in Tory districts, said the party is working flat out.
"We'll keep going until the whistle is blown on Monday night and we can't campaign anymore," he said. "I only get tired when I stop. So we got to keep moving."
NDP Leader Lorraine Michael also campaigned Monday in her home district, Signal Hill-Quidi Vidi.
On the weekend, Michael took her campaign to Labrador West, where the party feels it can win back a seat that turned Tory in a March byelection.
