Newfoundland and Labrador Premier Danny Williams will visit Government House Friday, for the second time in less than two months, to shuffle his cabinet.
Williams announced Friday there will be a swearing-in ceremony for new ministers later in the day.
Following Thursday night's Progressive Conservative byelection victory in the district of Terra Nova, Williams said he would be appointing a full-time transportation and works minister before the legislature reopens Monday.
Trevor Taylor was the last full-time minister, but he quit politics two months ago. Municipal Affairs Minister Dianne Whalen had been covering the portfolio, but when she went on sick leave, Finance Minister Tom Marshall took over as acting minister of transportation, while Fisheries Minister Tom Hedderson assumed responsibilities for Municipal Affairs.
Williams last shuffled his cabinet in early October when former health minister Paul Oram suddenly left politics, citing personal health issues and concerns about heavy media scrutiny.
