Suspicious fire destroys mobile home

A suspicious fire in Conception Bay South, near St. John's, spoiled what was otherwise a quiet Guy Fawke's night on the Avalon Peninsula.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary received a report shortly after 8 p.m. that a mobile home was burning at the end of Fowler's Road, in the eastern part of the community.

The local fire department responded, but wasn't able to save the structure.

Arson investigators have been called in to look for the cause, which police said is undetermined, but being treated as suspicious.
