A man was kept in jail overnight Wednesday in St. John's after he was arrested twice in one evening for drunk driving.
The first time, the 37-year-old was involved in an accident. Police said he was released after being charged with failing the breathalyzer.
A short time later, after a complaint of a possible impaired driver in the east end of the city, in the Pleasantville neighbourhood, the man was stopped and charged again.
Police said after the second charge he was held in the lockup to keep him from driving while drunk again.
