The Horizon Health Network has cancelled 34 H1N1 vaccine clinics scheduled this week for school children in southern New Brunswick.
The closures affect clinics from Sussex to St. Stephen that were set for Wednesday through to Nov. 11.
The Horizon Health Network is blaming the sudden cancellation on a shortage of the H1N1 vaccine.
The health authority has made exceptions for schools on Grand Manan, Deer Island and Campobello Island, which are expected to go ahead with their vaccination clinics on Wednesday and Thursday.
Most of the H1N1 vaccine clinics scheduled at schools elsewhere in the province are going ahead.
However, some evening hours have been cancelled in the Moncton area and in the northern part of the province, including Bathurst and Campbellton.
In the Fredericton area, a clinic at Nashwaaksis Middle School that was planned for Wednesday has also been cancelled.
The health authority has not said when these clinics will be rescheduled.
The shortage in H1N1 vaccine has caused more than 90 planned clinics across the province to be postponed.
There are almost 70 clinics, including the clinics planned for school children, that were supposed to take place in the Saint John area between Wednesday and Nov. 11 that have been forced to cancel because of the vaccine shortage.
Other postponed clinics include one in Woodstock, two in the Restigouche region, 15 in Moncton, one in Fredericton and four in the Acadie-Bathurst region.
