Two players on the Moncton Wildcats have tested positive for H1N1, team officials announced Tuesday night.
The team's doctor, Martin Robichaud, confirmed the cases and said 15 additional players and staff members are suffering from similar symptoms, according to the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League team's website.
All of the infected players and staff will be quarantined for approximately seven days, the website said. No one has been sent to hospital.
The team has contacted all of the players' parents and those within the organization, as well as QMJHL officials. Wildcats officials are expected to brief the media on Wednesday.
No further details were released.
The Moncton Wildcats recently made headlines when it was revealed that all 25 of their players had already been vaccinated against the swine flu, even as hundreds of others across Canada waited in long lines to get their shots.
The team's general manager, Bill Schurman, defended the decision and said the team took a pro-active approach and ordered the vaccines early.
