Motorists travelling to or from P.E.I. for Thanksgiving may have their travel plans interrupted by anticipated high winds.
The Confederation Bridge has issued a travel advisory that bridge traffic may be restricted for safety reasons effective Monday at 4 a.m. AT.
Winds are expected to be between 60 and 80 km/h, with gusts of up to 90 km/h, the advisory states.
Traffic restrictions affect motorcycles, automobiles towing trailers and high-sided vehicles, including trucks, tractor-trailers, recreational vehicles and buses.
Automobiles are not normally affected.
The advisory is expected to remain in effect until at least noon.
Advisories are normally issued when winds are projected to reach over 85 km/h.
Bridge traffic was restricted between 8 p.m. Saturday and 4:30 a.m. Sunday due to high winds.
Environment Canada has also issued a severe weather warning about "potentially damaging winds" expected for Queens and Kings counties Sunday night and into Monday.
It is calling for winds increasing to 60 km/h, with gusts up to 80 km/h along the coast.
