Health officials in northern New Brunswick have issued a warning about food consumed at a community picnic last weekend.
Some people who attended the Annual Brantville Picnic on Sunday became sick with nausea, vomiting and upset stomachs.
Medical officer of health Dr. Yves Leger says the warning was issued after it was discovered not all the food at the picnic had been consumed.
"In fact there were leftover foods that were packaged and distributed for sale to other attendees or the public at large after the event," Leger said. "Because of that fact and because some of that food may have been frozen and kept for later consumption, then obviously there still remained a potential risk."
Leger says anyone who bought leftover food at the picnic should throw it out, since it could be contaminated.
He says anyone suffering symptoms of upset stomach should see their doctor.
