There has been a second incident of vandalism in Fredericton involving the controversy over abortion.
The Morgentaler clinic was defaced Thursday night when anti-abortion slogans were spray-painted on the building. Last week, vandals broke windows at Mother and Child House, an anti-abortion office next door to the clinic.
Simone Leibovitch, manager of the Morgentaler clinic in Fredericton, said there are more productive ways to express your opinion on the issue.
"I think that there's ways to deal with this and to vent your frustration other than breaking windows or defacing buildings. That's not the way to do it," she said.
Fredericton city police are investigating both instances of vandalism, and increasing patrols in the area of the clinic.
"We'll have the officers take some extra time to look over the location to make sure everything's OK," said Staff Sgt. Gary Forward.
Leibovitch said the vandalism could be a reaction to recent demonstrations in the city by an Ontario anti-abortion group. They showed graphic pictures of what the group said was aborted fetuses.
Leibovitch said the photos, which she called "graphic and horrible," had nothing to do with what happens at her clinic, but they did upset many people.
