Recount sought in Sherbrooke mayor's race

CBC News
Former radio personality Hélène Gravel is seeking a recount after losing the mayor's race in Sherbrooke, Que., by only 122 votes in Sunday's civic election.
Gravel, who was defeated by longtime city councillor Bernard Sevigny, made an official request to the Court of Quebec Wednesday morning.
In a statement, Gravel said it is reasonable to ask for a recount with such a slim margin of victory — out of respect for the people who voted for her.
The court is expected to issue a ruling early next week.
Sevigny is the city's first new mayor in 15 years.
Jean Perreault had announced prior to the vote that he would not seek re-election.
