The New Democrats kept all five northern constituencies where they elected MLAs in 2003.
Flin Flon, Rupertsland, Swan River, The Pas and Thompson all stayed in the NDP camp.
With most of the polls reporting in the region, the NDP had about 66 per cent of the vote. The PCs had 25 per cent while the Liberals had about 9 per cent.
In the 2003 general election, the NDP took 15,701 votes (72 per cent), the PCs took 4,020 (18 per cent), and the Liberals 2,248 (10.2 per cent).
