A teenage stabbing victim is loaded into the back of an ambulance on Wednesday morning in Winnipeg. (Shaun McLeod/CBC)A teenage boy was sent to hospital after being stabbed in the back on Wednesday morning in Winnipeg.
Police were called just after 4 a.m. to a residence in the 600 block of Goulding Street, just off Portage Avenue, where they found the victim.
It is believed the attack happened several blocks away in the area of Ellice Avenue and Maryland Street and the teen made his way to the residence.
The wound is superficial and the victim, who is between 15 and 17 years old, is in stable condition, police said.
The area where police believe the stabbing happened — on Ellice Avenue between Maryland and Sherbrook streets — was taped off as investigators examined the scene.
