Two people have been charged with second-degree murder in the death of a man at the Roseau River First Nation.
Officers from the Dakota Ojibway police service were called to a home on the reserve, about 80 kilometres south of Winnipeg, shortly before 5 a.m. Friday. They found a dead man in the house.
The victim was identified as Sheldon George Atkinson, 36, who lived in the community. An autopsy Saturday at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg determined the cause of death was blunt force trauma.
Anastasia Alexander, 19, and Rennie Scott, 20, both residents of the Roseau River First Nation, were to appear Monday in provincial court in Winnipeg.
