A 25-year-old man is in stable condition in a Winnipeg hospital after being rescued from a burning home in Norway House, a community just north of Lake Winnipeg.
The fire broke out around 5:30 a.m. Saturday, police said.
Emergency crews arrived to find the front portion of the home engulfed in flames and filled with smoke.
An elderly woman and her 16-year-old grandson managed to get out.
RCMP said they tried to get inside, but the smoke was too heavy to get past the front entry.
The Norway House Fire Department put out the fire. Fire crews managed to get inside and found the third resident.
The 25-year-old's condition was not reported, but police said he was immediately taken to the local hospital and subsequently taken by air ambulance to Winnipeg.
Police said the other two people in the house were treated at the scene by paramedics.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
