A knock on the door turned into a terrifying home invasion for a Winnipeg teen Thursday afternoon.
According to police, two disguised men confronted a 17-year-old boy at a home in the city's North End.
"The victim answered the door and they confronted him quite boldly, quite as simple as that," police spokesman Const. Jason Michalyshen said.
The teen was assaulted by one of the suspects and then restrained as the two robbers stole electronics and jewelry from the house, he said.
Michalyshen wouldn't identify the street where the incident happened. He said the victim contacted a neighbour and police were called after the robbers fled.
The traumatized teen, who suffered minor injuries, is still being interviewed by police, Michalyshen said.
The investigation is continuing, and anyone with relevant information is asked to contact officers at 986-2848 or Crime Stoppers at 786-TIPS (8477).
